Bank of Maharashtra , BOI, IOB and the Central Bank of India: A Reuters report quoting sources suggested that the four banks have been shortlisted for privatisation. Two of those banks will be selected for sale in the 2021/2022 financial year which begins in April, the officials said. The shortlist has not previously been reported.

After surging 1% higher in the previous session, benchmarks moved higher on Tuesday within minutes of opening near flat. The BSE Sensex was at 52,476.32, up 322.19 points or 0.6% and the Nifty 50 was at 15,401.65 points, gaining almost 87 points or 0.6% around 0923 hours.
ONGC, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Bank, SBI, Power Grid and L&T were the top gainers while Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Sun Pharma were top Sensex laggards.

Luxury car group Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) unveiled plans to go electric on Monday, saying it aims to be net zero on carbon emissions by 2039 as it joined a global race to roll out clean-energy vehicles.
