Youngsters at Nettlestone Primary School are enjoying a playground with new markings - thanks to an Island Roads volunteering project.
Supported by lining partners WJ South West Group, Island Roads lining supervisor Spencer Jarman created a series of fun playground designs to stimulate imaginative play and support sports activities. ....

Emergency services called to trapped driver following Nettlestone crash

POLICE, fire and ambulance teams were called to a two-vehicle crash in Nettlestone today (Monday).
Emergency service teams were tasked with helping a person who had become trapped in their car following the incident.
The crash took place near to Nettlestone Primary School.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight and Hampshire Fire Service said: We received a call at 1.03pm to a two-vehicle road traffic collision along Nettlestone Green.
One casualty was extricated from their vehicle and left in the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
We left the scene shortly after 2pm.

Nettlestone and Newchurch messages in a bottle for World Book Day

The Last Bear author Hannah Gold and the children, it seems, were inspired.
At Nettlestone Primary, Lizzie in Year Five said: It was a lovely experience and I hope I get to talk to another author one day!
I liked the different shapes, sizes and colours of the bottles, said Alfie in Year Six.
Year Six s Cruz loved the cute polar bears and Addie, in Year Two, said: I really enjoyed completing my bottle moment. My moment will be going to America.

Coronavirus: Latest Isle Of Wight Students Told To Self-Isolate

It comes as more than 150 students were told to self-isolate yesterday (Monday)
Nettlestone Primary School have been told to self-isolate.
An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said:
“A member of Nettlestone Primary School has tested positive for Covid-19. Families and staff have all been informed. After seeking public health advice a Year 2 bubble of 30 children and four staff now need to remain at home and self-isolate as a precautionary measure.”
