'A fishy incident': Eagles drops carp, damaging city vehicle in Neenah

NEENAH, Wis. (CBS 58) Neenah officials are investigating a fishy incident that happened over the weekend.
The City of Neenah Community Development Department said building inspectors noticed damage to one of their cars. Only a few feet away. a carp.
Officials say a bird, most likely an eagle, dropped the fish and found something else to eat for dinner.

Neenah workers believe eagle dropped carp and damaged vehicle

Their recovery was aided by a national ban on the pesticide DDT, added protections under federal and state endangered species laws, river cleanups, citizen donations and monitoring by the DNR’s Natural Heritage Conservation staff and partners.
While the fish drop seemed like a one in a million chance, Jefferson said she heard a few anecdotes from other City Hall workers who’d seen similar accidents. Despite the healthy eagle population, Jefferson said City Hall doesn’t plan on moving vehicles to a garage.
“I walked into work and now I have this irrational fear that I’m going to get hit by a fish, but maybe it’s not irrational,” she said. “It is kind of funny because as it went around City Hall, people were saying that happened at High Cliff last summer, or this just happened to my friend. I think it’s more common than we think.” ....
