Keep golfers safe
As an avid golfer, I look forward to leaving my hometown of Jamestown, N.Y., in early November and returning with my husband to my second home in Ocala.
But, how could I maintain social distancing and yet ride safely in a cart with other golfers once I rejoined my leagues? Riding alone was the solution until courses began to run out of carts on a busy day. Some could manage with enough extra carts, but others decided to charge an extra $10 for a golfer to ride alone.
In New York, my golf courses had made cart dividers from clear vinyl or plexiglass to allow two non-related golfers to ride safely together. If golfers develop COVID-19 from close cart contact from other golfers, then the sport is going to become a safety risk. If we could solve the problem back home, why not in Ocala? ....
