Population growth creates need for two new high schools in two years in St. Johns County
Tocoi Creek High School will open for the 2021-2022 school year and another high school will open a year later.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. St. Johns County is bursting at the seams with growth, and it’s no different for the school district’s enrollment numbers.
“We appreciate the idea of growth, the idea of getting better, the idea of bringing new people in that can help contribute to that,” said St. Johns County Schools Superintendent Tim Forson.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Most St. Johns County high schools will hold outdoor high school graduation ceremonies at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, the district announced Tuesday.
The ceremonies at the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium will begin June 1 with St. Augustine High School at 7 p.m. and other schools will follow. Each student will get 10 tickets for guests and there will be pandemic protocols in place.
St. Johns Virtual School and St. Johns Technical High School will have their ceremonies at First Coast Technical School on May 27 and May 28, respectively.

The second month of the year has the distinction of being the shortest month and perhaps the gloomiest month weather-wise; it’s not what one expects from a month made for lovers. Considering the modern day emphasis on mass media, computerized databases and electronic access to, well everything, some folks view libraries as a thing of the past. In a manner of speaking, they aren’t far wrong.
