Top 3 Indian IT companies train over 775,000 in generative AI skills

The top three Indian IT firms Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys and Wipro collectively trained over 775,000 employees in generative AI (GenAI) capability by the end of 2023-24, according to an analysis of GenAI-trained workforce of leading companies in India in this sector.

This number is significantly higher that the projection made by the IT industry body Nasscom in its Strategic Review of 2023, released in February this year.

It said in 2023-2024, over 650,000 employees across the IT industry received training in Gen AI skills. ....

Early bird top line growth fastest in four quarters

The revenue growth of early birds or companies that have declared their Q4FY24 (March quarter) numbers is the highest in the last four quarters.

The 178 companies (excluding their listed subsidiaries) that declared their results have reported a sales growth rate of 13.2 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y), taking aggregate revenue to Rs 9.1 trillion.

Including other income, growth is at 16 per cent, the highest in the last four quarters. ....
