DICT Secretary Ivan Uy said the DICT's mandate cuts across all government agencies. "Through ICT (information and communications technology), we will be able to deliver to the Filipino people a better government, a more efficient government, a government that is easier to transact with, a government that is more competent, and a government that is not corrupt," Uy said during the turnover ceremony Monday. He noted that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s marching order is to "accelerate the build-up of digital infrastructure in the country."
