BUTUAN CITY - The Land Transportation Office in Caraga Region (LTO-13) has generated PHP115,928,411 revenues during the first three months of the year. An LTO-13 report released Thursday showed three district offices getting the highest revenue collections during the period Butuan City, Patin-ay in Agusan del Sur, and Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte. From January to March this year, LTO-Butuan garnered a total of PHP28,031,662 collections, topping all other LTO districts in the area. LTO-Butuan is followed by LTO-Patin-ay with a collection of PHP15,119,359 and LTO-Cabadbaran with PHP13,998,366. Another district that managed to collect double figures is LTO-Tandag, at PHP10,192,72. In a phone interview Wednesday, LTO-Butuan City district head Danielo Merson Borja attributed the increase in collections to the lowering of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic alert level in the city and the nearby areas. Perla Quidilla, head of the city's civil registry office, said the PSA spearheads the observance of Civil Registration Month. The annual celebration is relevant to the mandate of the agency to enforce civil registration functions in the country and is conducted under Presidential Proclamation No. 682 signed on January 28 1991 by former president Corazon C. Aquino, declaring February as the Civil Registration Month. This month marks the 32nd Civil Registration Month celebration with the theme "Improving Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Implementation Strategies through Digital Transformation". ZCPO logo ZAMBOANGA CITY - Lawmen have arrested three persons and seized more than PHP110,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-drug operations in this city, a top police official reported Wednesday. Col. Rexmel Reyes, city police director, identified the arrested suspects as Aldrin John Rubio, 21; Gerome Aleria, 27; and Maisal Sampang, 39. Reyes said Rubio was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Kasanyangan. Seized from the possession of Rubio were some 11 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP74,800, and PHP1,000 marked money consisting of two PHP500 bills. Around 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, Aleria was arrested in another anti-drug operation in Barangay Tugbungan, according to Reyes. He said Aleria yielded some PHP2,040 worth of suspected shabu, the PHP200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia. In a statement Wednesday, Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, chief of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), identified the suspect as Cpl. Myrldon Yagi, assigned at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 14 in Barangay Holy Spirit. Yagi was arrested inside the Barangay Holy Spirit Hall Annex after receiving four pieces of PHP500 bill as payment of the complainant in exchange for not dismantling his fruit stand in Barangay Pasong Tamo and to redeem his mobile phone that was forcibly taken by the suspect. The complainant said he was also mauled and threatened at gunpoint by the suspect, prompting him to seek the IMEG's assistance.
