(File photo) MANILA - Many areas in the country may experience rain showers due to the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon or "amihan," the weather bureau said Friday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. bulletin that the LPA was last tracked 765 km. east-southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and is less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone. Its trough is forecast to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and Bohol. Rains caused by the northeast monsoon will be experienced over the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, and Bicol regions, and the provinces of Aurora, and Quezon. PAGASA said these areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. Flash floods or landslides are also possible in the rest of Mindanao during severe thunderstorms. These areas will have isolated rain showers
(File photo) MANILA - The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas and Mindanao on Valentine's Day, the weather bureau said Tuesday. These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. The LPA is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but its trough is forecast to bring moderate to heavy rains over Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Northern Mindanao. Meanwhile, PAGASA said Palawan will have isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, and flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will experience light rains but no significant impact is expected, according to PAGASA. Strong winds and rough seas will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail
(File photo) MANILA - Most parts of the country will continue to experience rain showers due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon, the weather bureau said Thursday. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Visayas, Mindanao, Romblon, Albay, Sorsogon and Masbate due to the LPA last spotted 245 km east southeast of Davao City. This LPA is less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. bulletin. Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Bicol Region, Aurora, Laguna, Quezon, Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro will experience rains caused by the northeast monsoon. Flash floods or landslides are likely in said areas due to moderate to heavy rains. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have light rains due to the northeast monsoon. Luzon, Visayas and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao
(File photo) MANILA - Most parts of the country will continue to experience rains due to the low pressure area (LPA) last tracked 100 kilometers east of Davao City, the weather bureau said Tuesday. "This LPA still has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression, but it will bring rains to a huge part of the country," Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said. Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast over the Visayas, Mindanao, Sorsogon, Albay, Masbate, Romblon and Palawan. "The rains may trigger floods or landslides over these areas," Aurelio said. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan affecting Northern Luzon will bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, and isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of the island. Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over northern and central Luzon. Strong to gale force winds
MANILA- The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, the weather bureau said Friday. "This LPA (was last tracked) around 900 kilometers east southeast of Mindanao. It has a slim chance to develop into a tropical cyclone, and also unlikely to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility," Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Benison Estareja said. The shear line affecting the eastern section of northern Luzon, on the other hand, will bring rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora. Residents of these areas are advised to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains. Meanwhile, Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region will have isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Moderate to strong
