Mayor Steve Valentino announced that the developer who was looking to purchase and develop property currently owned by the Geneva American Legion had backed out of the deal. Valentino clarified that although the project had significant zoning issues to be worked through, those issues were not what caused the developer to back out of the project. The Geneva manufacturing business, which focuses on plastic fabrication, is looking to add a new facility in town. The estimated $1.5 million project will be on Rt. 14 near Gambee Road.
The Geneva Town Board recently approved applying for a $100,000 Community Development Block Grant from New York State.
