July 9, 2021 James Kon The Health Advice Line 148, the hotline for the latest information and advice on matters related to COVID-19, has been inundated by calls in recent months. There are only six operators and two supervisors manning the switchboard at 7.45am to 4.30pm daily, with the exception of Friday, which is from 8am to 12pm. According to statistics from Ministry of Health (MoH), 3,691 calls were received last May, with 4,987 in June and 1,633 in the first week of July. Since the onset of the third phase in the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, the hotline has been receiving an average of 300 calls per day, compared to 100 calls previously.
