Underworld leader 'Urujuwa' killed by Police fire; he was wanted for murder & extortion

COLOMBO (News 1st); One of Sri Lanka’s notorious underworld leaders “Urujuwa”, real name Mabulage Dineth Melan Mabula wanted for murder, attempted murder, organized crimes and extortion was killed by police fire on Tuesday (11).
He was arrested on Monday (10) by Sri Lanka Police and following a statement being recorded from the suspect he was taken to a location in Nawagamuwa based on the statement, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.
“An incident had taken place at the location and the suspect died upon admission to hospital,” he said.
The body of the suspect is placed at the Nawagamuwa Hospital for inquiry and further investigations are underway. ....

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 03 month old infant was among the 26 COVID-19 deaths confirmed by the Director General of Health Services on Monday (10).
These fatalities were reported from the 03rd of May to 10th of May 2021, and the total number of fatalities in Sri Lanka climbed to 827.
The deceased were from Galle, Hettipola, Pallewela, Kandy, Mathugama, Padukka, Nebada (02) , Jaffna (02), Meegahagoda, Kalutara (02) , Akuressa, Moronthuduwa, Anuradhapura, Colombo 06, Kaluaggala, Moratuwa, Malwana, Borella, Colombo 15, Kandana, Maswela, Wattegama, Malabe.
1. The deceased is a 66 year old female resident in Galle. She died on 09.05.2021 in her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia. ....
