Were going to have a pretty informal discussion here where well throw out some questions that have occurred to all of us as weve been listening to these wonderful talks and the first question i will throw out, i think, i trust has occurred to many of you in the audience, and that is its really aimed primarily at gary and christopher, and that is are your two interpretations garys with the emphasis on centrality of the theater on the east and then west. Are they at odds or reconcilable . Im happy to have you go first. Set the tone. I think its all in the definition of the word is. I actually dont disagree with gary on a lot of points. The war was. Without the Virginia Campaign and without the successes that grant brought to it, that stalemate could have continued longer. Im not certainly exactly what sherman could have done had grant not had the successes that he had by bringing a different type of war fair. My point is not to critique garys emphasis on the east i

The federal government in 1934 had passed the First National housing act which will help workingclass people get home mortgages. Its part of roosevelts new deal. National housing act. Its going to create the federal Housing Administration and the homeowners loan corporation. This will help streamline loans and make it more accessible during the Great Depression for people to get a home loan. Here. Ere are some issues one of the issues is to get one of these home loans, the federal Housing Administration states that the neighborhood has to be racially homogeneous, which means that people have to be from the same racial and ethnic group. They do not believe that a neighborhood is stable if it is integrated, so they wont give loans if the neighborhood is integrated. So theres a problem this is ng to help create neighborhoods that have been integrated are going to become segregated and whole new neighborhoods are goi

On the morning of december 7, 1941, planes from six japanese aircraft carriers attacked the island of oahu in hawaii, targeting the Pacific Fleet at pearl harbor. Almost 400 americans were killed, and 1200 wounded. 20 airships and vessels, and almost 350 aircraft were destroyed or damaged. The surprise attack led to u. S. Entry in world war ii.
