Many are now turning over a new leaf and using the time to join de-addiction support groups online. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) India, one such support group, is now getting several calls each day from people who want to give up their addiction. It is now running WhatsApp groups and organising teleconferences. Members can join the meeting digitally or on phone through an access code. TOI attended one such meeting where several people spoke about how the lockdown was a “wake-up call”.
