Four Indian boxers test COVID-19 positive, hospitalised BySabi HussainSabi Hussain / Updated: Apr 2, 2021, 10:57 IST New Delhi: India s three leading boxers, Deepak Kumar (52kg), Manjeet Singh (+91kg) and Narendra Kumar (+91kg), and 2017 youth boxing national champion, Mohammed Etash Khan (57kg), have been hospitalised in a Patiala hospital with Covid-19 symptoms. The development came a day after the Sports Authority of India ( SAI) announced carrying out precautionary RT-PCR tests on national campers at NIS Patiala and at the regional centre in Bengaluru. Of the 313 tests conducted in Patiala, 26 athletes, coaching support personnel and residential staffers had tested positive for Covid-19, while out of the 428 tests conducted in Bengaluru, four had been found Covid infected. None of them were Tokyo Olympic-bound athletes. ....
