Pam and steve all of the streets were opened just after 9 this evening when the evacuation orders were dropped. That being said there is still work that is taking place on the roof of this building in this distance. You cant see the work from this angle but you can see the lights that are on. There were a number of different stories about what happened out there today but heres what fire crews are saying tonight. They got a call after workers from the building youre looking at alerted them that a strut used to hold up a platform gave away on the top of the building. That platform then began leaning at a 15 degree angle. There is a 30 ton concrete pump on the platform that was being used. There were fears that something could fall off. Streets were closed off and 16 buildings evacuated. Fire crews say the platform and the pump are both secure tonight. I asked crewswhy all the stories. Out here live you can see the streets are now open and people are able to go back into those buildings.
