Of the cable cars still show. Its just an amazing place. So thats my hope, you know, that this book i wrote, this story gets out, were on sfgov tv. Somebody will say, i have a cable car house, nobody asked me. Come take a look at it. Because right now were down to one or two maybe that are still around when were talking about there used to be hundreds. Essentially into a generation of tearing them down. No more construction. Complete replacement. Yeah. In the 1910, about 1913, 1914, they really started pushing to get rid of them. When that open block that sutro rented, right on the edge of the sunset, when that cleared out, it eliminated the visibility of carville. We talk about a whole block of car houses that were still there. When that gets replaced by apartment buildings, suddenly you have a car house here, one there. Just where people havent taken the time to tear it out or build a conventional home. In the 1920s or 1930s, things were booming House Building wise out there. So if y
Part of it too is one of the things we want is the clubs to police themselves and we dont ask people to be pushed out into street. They have a responsibility for these individuals as they leave as well. So sean as another private companies do a good job of policing the streets and we leave it to the individual owners on any given night and i have said to other individuals as well that to take the temperature of your club and if you dont like whats going on, shut it down a little bit earlier and shut the music down a little bit early so they are not all taken out at one time. If you have different genres omusic and different cultures, thats where there could be some tension. We ask the owners to take responsibility not only for the people in the club, but when they get out as well they police the sidewalks and call the Police Department. As previous individuals we have never puntively addressed anyone when they call. We address the calls accordingly. We tend to use the numbers favorably
Realized the second the bus arrives they cant eat on the bus. So where do they toss it . If they werent looking or realized there was a trash can next to them as most bus stops do have them. They were irresponsible. We literally saw people tossing things as they got on boarding the buses. Thats not good behavior. Obviously we need to do a lot more education. We need to end that practice and we need to keep and attitude, a very spirit of keeping our public assets clean and beautiful as you see them today. This is what these buses ought to look like a few years from now. We know they wont, but we need to keep that attitude in the city, not only with our youth but everybody in the city of all ages we see them discarding waste material onto the streets. We have a crew of people picking these up and reminding folks. We wanted to change things. That is part of using the giant sweep in the world ferries that we can use that spirit. I want to thank Rachel Gordon and the whole public works for
Morning. I have a firm in oakland. We specialize in 3 dimensional shell structures we have the bean structure in chicago. Ive been asked to think about how some i thought things we do might be applicable to our awning. We prepared some booklets that decides what our thinking is. Pass them out to you. You can keep puc. Basically, what it describes is a smooth skin smooth shell instead of the design are the question is is it affordable . So we gave that some thought and we came up with a redesign of the structure which will eliminate many of the field see costs and the thinking is that any additional costs in producing the 3 indemnify formed panels is mitigated by the reduction in assembly costs at the actual building. This is as you look through this you can see the transitions from the current design and going i know taking the skin off and enclosing through it and putting it back on. Now this skin that you have fred printed to you and so lovely here can be made smooth it can be stainl
