From cbs news bay area, this is the afternoon edition. Right now on the afternoon edition, tensions escalating as propalestinian protesters rock Major College campuses all across the country. Good afternoon. Im ryan yamamoto. From coast to coast, demonstrations against the war in gaza have spread to several universities, leading to everett leading to concerns over safety. This was the scene at uc berkeley this morning. Protesters set up tents all in the center of campus. Hundreds of protesters held a rally yesterday, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the war. They are demanding the college divest from companies that have ties to the israeli military. In a statement, uc berkeley says with three weeks left in the semester, berkeley is prioritizing students academic interests.
