There Are Over 50 Black Girls Reported Missing In New York, New Jersey

More than 50 Black girls have been reported missing from New York and New Jersey. According to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, almost 20 Black have gone missing in these states since the beginning of the year. 
The disappearance of two of the girls, 19-year-old
Sanaa Amenhotep made national headlines. Authorities have said Dennis died by suicide after getting into an argument with her ex-boyfriend, her family is demanding more answers as her body has not been found.
The family of 15-year-old Sanaa, said authorities did not take initial reports that the teen had been abducted seriously. She was missing for three weeks before her body was found shot more than ten times and buried in a wooded area in South Carolina. Sanaa’s father, Newark activist ....

RI bridges need 'lockboxes' to aid suicide prevention

Bridge jumping is a relatively rare occurrence, but not in Newport County and not in the past couple of months. Three people lost their lives jumping off Newport County bridges and 27 lost their lives in the past nine years.
When it comes to suicide in the U.S., the most common means is by firearms, which accounts for about 55% of the suicide deaths, followed by suffocation, poisoning and jumping.
It may seem obvious to anyone who lives in Newport County as to why a person would contemplate jumping off a bridge. Bridges are everywhere. They are convenient and link our islands together. The paradox is that people around here don’t enjoy crossing bridges. They prefer to stay put, and yet they may consider jumping off the bridge, if distraught enough. ....

Dialing ‘406’ Will be Mandatory for All In-State Calls
starting on April 24th, you will have to add the 406, and for a good reason.
The FCC has approved the three digit number 988 as the National Suicide Lifeline. Yes, there s still an FCC, who knew!? To avoid accidental calls to the suicide line, states that are still dialing 7 digits will have to include the area code, including Montana. You ll have until
October 24th to get used to dialing 406, as that is the date dialing 7 digits will no longer work. Also, if you have 7 digit numbers saved in your phone, which just about everyone does, you ll have to go through your list of contacts and add a 406.  When I switched phone numbers, I had to do this, it s kind of a pain in the ass. However, I am glad that, ultimately, this is happening to help people in crisis. ....
