In the wake of a Telegraph investigation which found that hundreds were paying their bosses more than the Prime Minister earns, charities have been warned that they need to address fat cat pay in order to maintain public trust in the sector. ....

Priti Patel will on Monday accuse Facebook of putting profits before children’s safety, as she says tech giants have a “moral duty” to prevent abuse.
The Home Secretary will take the unusual step of singling out Facebook for its “unacceptable” plans to encrypt all messages, which she says will hamper law enforcement agencies’ ability to prevent “abhorrent” online child abuse.  ....

The Queen s honours acknowledge hundreds of people for services to community or British national life.
Recipients are selected by committees of civil servants from nominations made by the government and the public.
In descending order, the main honours are knighthoods, CBE, OBE and Member of the Order of the British Empire, or MBE. Knights are addressed as sir or dame, followed by their name.
