Today is a somber day as we remember the anniversary of the NASA Challenger explosion that occurred back in 1986. Thursday is the 35th anniversary of the tragedy, one that killed all the crew members on board, including Christa McAuliffe, who would have been the first teacher to make it to space. Six astronauts, including San Antonio resident Dick Scobee, also perished in the explosion that happened just 73 seconds after liftoff. NASA honored their lives with a remembrance ceremony that took place Thursday morning.
The city of San Antonio continues to deal with high COVID-19 numbers, but luckily more and more teachers are starting to get the vaccine. A question that remains, however, is, when will the vaccine be available to children? Presently, the vaccine is only approved by the Federal Drug Administration for people over the age of 18 but kids as young as 12 are now being vaccinated in trials from both Pfizer and Moderna. Good Morning: Celebrate the little things in life

I am not the only one who thinks January 2021 has felt six months long already, am I? Now that Christmas is over and spring has yet to arrive, these darkest months of winter can be hard to hang through.
But, there is always something to celebrate if we just look around. This week alone brought loads to celebrate. For instance, did you know that Tuesday is both National Peanut Brittle and National Spouses Day? S, maybe by your spouse some peanut brittle and let the little ones watch a movie while you tell each other thank you for all of the ways you have helped each other through the past year? Or maybe you share the candy with the kids and all sit around and laugh at all of the crazy things that happened during the quarantine at your home?
