CBN shares N2tn to households, businesses as Covid-19 stimulus package

This was disclosed during the Monetary Policy Committee meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to the bank, under its Covid-19 Targeted Credit Facility(TCF), 426,106 households and small businesses have received N192.6 billion, while 27,956 farmers have also shared N106.96 billion through the Agri-Business Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS).
CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele made this disclosure while reading the communique from the Monetary Policy Committee meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
He said, “Health Care Support Intervention Facility, N72.96 billion have been disbursed for 73 project that comprise 26 pharmaceutical projects and 47 Hospitals and Health Care Services Project in the country.”
To support the provision of employment opportunities for the Nigerian youth, Emefiele also said the Central Bank of Nigeria provided financial support through the Creative Industry Financing Initiative and Nigerian Youth Investment Fund amounting to N3.1 ....

Ibadan DisCo Distributes 104,000 Meters in Nigeria

Under the National Mass Metering Program, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) began the distribution of 104,000 free meters in Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday.
Introduced by President Muhammadu Buhari last August, the Program aims to distribute six million meters across the country, in an effort to boost the national metering rate and do away with arbitrary estimated billing. One million meters have been distributed as part of the first rollout.
“We are here to launch the National Mass Metering for the Federal Government. These are free meters, so customers are not paying for it. The essence is to discourage estimated billing that a lot of customers have been complaining about,” said Ayo Adio, Head of Customer Support, IBEDC. “We believe that within a few weeks, most of the customers that are designated for meters will have them installed in ....

Ibadan Disco begins distribution of 104,000 free meters

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, on Wednesday in Ibadan, Oyo State, commenced the distribution of 104,000 free meters under the Federal Government National Metering Scheme.
A total of one million meters are reportedly being rolled out in the first batch of the mass metering of customers across the country.
The Head, Customers Support of IBEDC, Mr Ayo Adio, in an interview with journalists, warned electricity consumers against lobbying or cutting corners to get meters as such attempts would fail.
He said, “We are here to launch the National Mass Metering for the Federal Government. These are free meters; so, customers are not paying for it. The essence is to discourage estimated billing that a lot of customers have been complaining about.
