The number of Covid-19 related deaths continues to increase significantly, with KwaZulu-Natal accounting for nearly 50% of fatalities confirmed in the latest report.

Statistics released by National Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize on Tuesday, show that 680 more people succumbed to Covid-19 related illnesses.
KwaZulu-Natal accounts for 306 of those fatalities.
Gauteng has recorded 141 Covid-19 deaths, followed by the Western Cape at 95 and the Eastern Cape at 86.
A further 28 more people have succumbed to Covid-19 in the Free State, 18 in Mpumalanga, 4 in Limpopo and 2 in the Northern Cape. ....

The Covid-19 recovery rate in South Africa has further increased over the past 24 hours to 84.7%, from 84%.

Statistics released by National Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize also revealed that a further 12 710 new infections were recorded in the 24 hours up to last night.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the country stands at 1 369 426 since the beginning of the pandemic in March. 
However, a further 566 new Covid-19 related deaths have been reported - with KwaZulu-Natal recording a whopping 218 new related fatalities, followed by the Eastern and Western Cape at 104 new deaths. ....
