In fact, i was waiting for your favorite two weather words when doing that explanation, you know what they are, radiational cooling, yes, thats what happened overnight in minneapolis. Now it is 24 below windchill and the actual temperature is two below. But heres where we are. Right now, wow, above freezing. With our current temperature at 34. And our windchill of 29. We will take that. Much, much better. Sunrise time 7 09. Weve got number of the day is a six out of ten, only because, it is going to rain later on, have a lot of cloud cover. But will be much milder today, it is National Grapefruit month. Yep, first day of february. Dont forget your umbrella if youre going to be out all day. It’s weird to think that this is the same winter during which I’ve complained about the lack of cold and snow and overall winter-ness. This week Mother Nature decided to show us that, yes indeed, winter is real and it’s
spectacular. Not only have the temps been somewhere between
Ice Station Zebra and freezing, we’ve had a parade of storms.
There’s another one due this Sunday, and then more on Tuesday. A few inches expected with each one, though the TV meteorologists haven’t been exactly on-the-nose with their forecasts. There’s so much technology, so many fancy mobile weather vehicles, so many computer models (European! American! That other one!) that it just confuses everything. When you give all of the possible weather outcomes, you’re really giving none.
