Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service is supporting the National Fire Chiefs Council’s (NFCC) campaign. The campaign is running for seven days and will raise awareness of the benefits of sprinkler systems in keeping people and buildings safer from fire as the teams encourage people to #ThinkSprinkler. Fire sprinklers are widely recognised as the single most-effective method for fighting the spread of fires in their early stages. Fire Protection Group Manager Stuart Hook said: “Working smoke alarms save lives by warning of smoke caused by fire and that is important, but they can’t put fires out. A sprinkler system will detect the fire and extinguish or control it and that’s even better.”
