Brasilia, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) About 894 members of indigenous villages have died of Covid-19, causing the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, according to the most recent report from the Brazil s Indigenous People Articulation (APIB).
APIB also informs that 42,192 natives were reported with the disease and 161 of their towns are affected by the virus.
Such deaths and infections represent the total of the data reported by the Special Secretariat for Indigenous Health (SESAI) and verified by the National Committee for the Life and Memory of Indigenous Peoples, APIB states.
However, the Ministry of Health records to date about 36,124 infections among aboriginal communities. The Government also reported 501 deaths.
