news Rajeendra Kalugampitiya receives FIDE Trainer Title Daily News (via HT Media Ltd.) FIDE Master Rajeendra Kalugampitiya was awarded the highest chess Trainer title Sri Lanka possess at present, FIDE Trainer by the World Chess Federation after his performance at the Trainers Seminar conducted online by a trainer panel including former World Chess champion, Anatorly Karpov. Rajeendra is the one and only FIDE Trainer in Sri Lanka. Rajeendra was the National Chess Champion in 2016 and obtained the FIDE Master title later by the FIDE. The Trainer seminar conducted by the FIDE Trainer Commission was sponsored by the Asian Chess Federation in December 2020 and FIDE made the official announcement of awarding the title last week. ....
