President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced plans to appoint another slate of top allies to various government boards, yet another sign that his time in office is winding to a close.
The president named Hope Hicks to be a member of the board overseeing the prestigious Fulbright scholarship. Hicks has long been one of Trump’s closest confidants outside of members of his own family and returned to the White House this year after leaving earlier in his presidency. Her Covid-19 diagnosis this fall touched off a deluge of positive tests throughout Trump’s orbit, including the president himself. ....

President Trump is naming a who’s who of close allies and confidantes to high-profile boards on his way out the door.
He tapped Pam Bondi, a former Florida attorney general and key impeachment adviser, to serve on the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Hope Hicks, a close aide during his 2016 campaign and White House counselor, is heading to the board that oversees Fulbright Scholarships, while Richard Grenell, who served as U.S. ambassador to Germany and acting Director of National Intelligence, was appointed as member of the United Sta ....

McKenzie fills spot on school committee


 
BEVERLY — Kenann McKenzie will represent Ward 2 on the School Committee after the City Council and the School Committee unanimously voted for her during a rare joint meeting on Thursday night.
McKenzie, who lives on Webber Avenue, will take over the seat which is opening up due to the upcoming resignation of current School Committee Member Kelley Feretti on Jan. 1.
Ferretti announced in September that she would step down due to a lack of respect and professionalism on the School Committee.
During a presentation given before the vote, McKenzie said if she were chosen to serve on the school committee, she would work to create an equitable environment for all students. ....
