Starting in pole position, Maloney produced a flawless drive to notch his first win of the season and he held off the formidable challenge of teammate Isack Hadjar, who finished second. Maloney and Hadjar shared similar fortunes this weekend as the Frenchman crossed the finish line first in Saturday’s opening race, while Maloney was runner-up. “Huge happiness to win here in Monaco. I am sure all Barbados will be cheering, and I hope this will bring other young drivers from my country close to motorsport. It was not easy to keep Isack behind, and at every restart I was thinking how to do it better and what to improve.
