Herd Falls 5-4 in shootout to Des Moines

(KELO.com) – The Sioux Falls Stampede dropped their fifth straight game in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Des Moines Buccaneers at the PREMIER Center Saturday night. Tyler Haskins scored twice in the contest, while Noah Grannan made the start and stopped 36 of 40 shots on net. The Buccaneers opened the scoring for the second straight night with a goal from Paul Davey at 1:33 of the first period. Tyler Haskins responded with a goal two minutes later on a rebounded shot off the chest of goaltender Remington Keopple. Dan Russell and Will Schimek assisted on the goal.

Stampede earn weekend sweep over Storm

By Carter Woodiel Feb 22, 2021 5:02 AM KEARNEY, Neb. (Stampede) – The Sioux Falls Stampede defeated the Tri-City Storm 4-2 to earn a two-game sweep at the Viaero Center Sunday evening. Goaltender Noah Grannan was the star of the game after stopping 37 of 39 shots on net. Luke Toporowski, Brent Johnson and Reid Pabich scored in the contest. Gavin Brindley scored the opening goal of the game for the Tri-City Storm at 5:54 of the first period with the assist to Cole O’Hara. The Herd quickly responded with a goal from defenseman Brent Johnson, his tenth of the season, with the assists to Dante Fantauzzi and Reid Pabich.

Stampede down Tri-City 5-4 in overtime

By Rick Keller Feb 21, 2021 7:22 AM KEARNEY, NE (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede defeat the Tri-City Storm 5-4 in overtime at the Viaero Center Saturday night. Luke Toporowski scored the game-winning goal, while Cole Sillinger tallied two in the game. Trent Burnham made the start in net and stopped 27 of 31 shots on net. The Sioux Falls Stampede were able to grab the first goal of the game in an important Western Conference battle just 20 seconds into the first period. Cole Sillinger collected a neutral zone miscue and danced his way into the neutral zone unassisted for the goal. Defenseman Nate Schweitzer upped the score with a goal three minutes later with the assist to Dan Russell.

Stampede throttle Stars 10-4 in Lincoln

Stampede logo. LINCOLN, NE (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede defeated the Lincoln Stars 10 to four Friday night at the Ice Box. Seven different players tallied goals for the Herd, while Cole Sillinger tallied his first career USHL hat trick in the contest. Christian Stoever made the start in net, stopping 30 of 34 shots on net. The first game of a three-game, road trip weekend could not have started any worse as the Lincoln Stars opened with two quick goals in the first seven minutes of the period. After James Stefan and Jake Beaune tallied goals for the Stars, Stampede Head Coach Marty Murray called a timeout. Thirty seconds later Cole Sillinger scored his fifth goal in six games for the Herd to get within one. Luke Toporowski provided the assist on the play.
