That’s a big bass in fact, the biggest bass caught at the Sangchris Lake Sectional earlier this month. And a gigantic thrill for the fisherman who caught it A-C Central’s Nate Dirks.
“The pre-fish days, and the previous tournaments, we had not caught anything big at all,” Dirks said. “So when I hooked into it, I was excited. I was ecstatic. And my boat captain kept telling me to calm down and don’t crank it in, because I was real excited. I was trying to get it in the boat, and I started almost got it knocked off at one point. It was exciting, for sure.”

Former A-C Central band director Kim Webster knows a little bit about fishing, but not a lot about bass fishing.
She wasn’t about to let a little thing like that stop her from taking on the job as head coach of the A-C Central bass fishing team.
The team needed her.
“I retired in 2015,” Webster said, “and one of the boys came to me and said, Web, we aren’t going to get to have a bass fishing team. Nobody will take it. Will you do it?”
