Reuben’s Brews triples-down on triple IPAs By washingtonbeerblog on February 16, 2021 at 12:32 PM
Is Reuben’s Brews the Master of Triple IPA?
I don’t know the answer, I’m just posing the question. Such things are not for me to decide. Many of Washington’s breweries, and a lot of breweries across the nation, have created triple IPAs. Some of them very successfully. I don’t intend to suggest otherwise. But damn, Reuben’s Brews has an uncommon obsession with this style.
One thing is certain, Reuben’s Brews is pretty damn serious about triple IPA. Right now, they have three of them for you to try: Blimey That’s Bitter and Triple Crush are available in cans for pickup at the brewery’s to-go store (order online), and Gobsmacked is still on draft at the taproom. Yep, three triple IPAs at once.

The show must go on! Brewmaster’s Taproom hosting a Hop Mob event By washingtonbeerblog on January 26, 2021 at 5:21 PM
2021 Hop Mob – 15 beers and now one event
Along with Adam Robbings from Reuben’s Brews and Nat Pellman from Brouwer’s Cafe, I have helped organize Washington Hop Mob for the past several years. Basically a series of events in February each year. In a previous post, I explain what Hop Mob is all about.
Today, I’m announcing that there will be at least one Hop Mob event this year, taking place at
The Brewmaster’s Taproom. See the details below. Perhaps other locations will read this post and get ideas. If so, they can contact me and we’ll talk about it.

Fremont Brewing releasing a barley wine for Bonney By washingtonbeerblog on December 30, 2020 at 8:46 AM
Matt Bonney was a larger-than-life personality on the Seattle beer scene. Among his numerous contributions to the local beer universe, he opened Toronado Seattle in 2014, but that’s just one part of a long list. Matt unexpectedly passed away in 2019. It was a year later in March 2020 that Toronado Seattle announced that it was closing permanently.
Fremont Brewingrecently announced its plans to release Ye Olde Centaur Barley Wine as a nod to a man very deserving of such a tribute. The beer was brewed in collaboration with the folks at Seattle’s esteemed beer bar, Brouwer’s Cafe, which is where Matt made an indelible first impression on many local beer lovers.
