ISLAMABAD: Geo News cameraman Nasir Mughal was brutally beaten up while covering the Barrister Fahad Malik murder case in an Islamabad anti-terrorism court on Monday.
He was attacked by the accused and their lawyers in the case.
Barrister Fahad Malik, the nephew of former Senate chairman and incumbent Federal Minister for Privatization Mohammad Mian Soomro, was murdered at F-10/3 Sector in Islamabad on August 15, 2016.
Later in November 2018, the ATC in Islamabad indicted Raja Arshad, Noman Khokhar and Raja Hashim for the murder of Malik. However, all of them pleaded not guilty. ....

ISLAMABAD: Nasir Iqbal has taken a big leap in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) ranking as the player now stands at No 130 with Tayyab Aslam continues to lead the pack of Pakistani players.
Tayyab is ranked 41st in the January 2021 ranking list. Nasir, who was previously at No 215, has gained 85 places in the current ranking. His current position is the highest since coming out of four-year ban.
Asem Khan (68), Farhan Mehboob (93), Ammad Fareed (101), Farhan Zaman (113), Danish Atlas (119) and Israr Ahmed (131) are other leading Pakistanis in the PSA ranking list.
âIt has been a big stride by Nasir who was outside 200 players a month back. Hopefully, within the next few months, Nasir would be plugging the gap further. The Leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, MP Rauf Hakeem has been quarantined after it was confirmed that he was infected with the coronavirus.
15 MP s of the ruling party and the opposition who were close associates of MP Rauf Hakeem were also isolated.
All of them have been instructed to undergo PCR tests.
Gayantha Karunatilake and Thalatha Athukorala from Samagi Janabalavegaya and M.A. Sumanthiran of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have been quarantined.
Also MPs, M. Rasamanickckam, Faisal Qasim, M.M. Haarris, M.S. Tawfiq and Nasir Ahmed have been quarantined.
Also, the chamber of Parliament was disinfected yesterday (10). ....

People whose houses will be demolished to be provided rent for two years, says Nasir

The residents of houses to be demolished in anti-encroachment drives will be provided house rent for two years.
Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah made this promise on Sunday as he paid a visit to the Mehmoodabad Nullah where a major anti-encroachment operation is scheduled to start today (Monday).
The minister said that after the Mehmoodabad nullah, encroachments would be removed from other areas in Karachi as well.
He also announced that the Sindh government was planning a housing scheme where the people affected by anti-encroachment drives would be given a priority. ....
