NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Starting Monday, Metro will begin offering the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine to the first 500 walk-ins each day at the Music City Center – that’s in addition to scheduled appointments.
Dr. Gill Wright with the Metro Public Health Department made the announcement during Metro’s weekly COVID update on Thursday.
So far, 35.6% of residents have received their first dose of the vaccine, and Metro is trying to increase that number to 50% by May. To help them reach that goal, they’ve decided to open the Music City Center to walk-ins. ....

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro opened thousands more COVID-19 vaccination appointment slots Friday morning as the city continues its vaccine rollout.
Dr. Alex Jahangir and Dr. Gill Wright with Metro Public Health announced the update during their weekly COVID briefing, which was done via conference call Thursday morning.
This week, Metro announced details for its first mass vaccinations event, which will be held at Nissan Stadium. Within two hours of opening sign-ups for the event, all 10,000 slots were filled. Health officials said more slots would open at 10 a.m. Friday for vaccinations at the Music City Center. Click here to sign up or you can call 615-862-7777. ....

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville announced it will vaccinate 10,000 people at Nissan Stadium later this month in what will be the city’s largest one-day vaccination event.
The event will take place from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on March 20. The drive-thru event will be located in Lots A-D of Nissan Stadium.
Health officials will open 10,000 appointments at 10 a.m. Wednesday for anyone in Phase 1a, 1b, 1c and those 65 and older. A total of 200 available spots will open every 15 minutes. Once you make an appointment, you will receive a confirmation email that must be presented when you arrive for the vaccine. Appointments can only be made online by visiting covid19.nashville.gov. ....

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — This week’s winter storms in Tennessee have forced Nashville to delay its COVID-19 vaccinations and close its community assessment centers. However, despite the treacherous weather, Mayor John Cooper said the delays have not resulted in any wasted doses.
Due to the weather delay, Metro said it had 400 doses of the vaccine that were about to expire. So, they took that supply to The Nashville Rescue Mission and administered it to about 250 individuals who wanted to be vaccinated. The Room In The Inn also brought some individuals over. The remaining doses then went to those on Metro’s standby list. ....
