However, as a homebuyer, it’s important to stay alert and not let yourself be influenced solely by the experience centre. “The staff at these centres often share superficial information to make the project appear appealing to potential buyers. However, it’s crucial to ask about other details, no matter how trivial they may seem, before making a booking payment,” says Vaishali G, a resident of Mumbai.
The decision comes into effect following the directions issued by Maharashtra s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The minister had recently, at a NAREDCO conference, voiced concern over the level of interest charged by the state government s housing body from realty developers and had stated the need to lower the same to bring it at par with that of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).
"The government will ask MHADA to put up a proposal; so that it could be brought at par with the BMC and we would have the same regulation in both the organizations," said Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief minister of Maharashtra.
The Minister further stated that the demand for housing in the state needs to be fulfilled with more real estate development taking place while highlighting that for MHADA s 4000 homes, over two lakh applications were received indicating the strong demand for housing. He requested real estate developers to come forward for redeveloping SRA & MHADA projects and also support in the second phase of PMAY.
