Good afternoon and welcome to the historic Trinity United Methodist church. We feel fortunate to be in this beautiful space which was made possible by the generosity of jack and mary, im honored to serve as volunteer for the 11th annual savanna book festival and so glad you also participated in this years festival. It is presented by george power, david and nancy cintron, the shia Family Foundation and mark and hats. We want to thank our literary members and individual sponsors and donors who made and continue to make saturday at the book festival a free event. 90 of the revenue comes from donors like you so thank you very much. What i saw, this book is really about flatline, a transformation that took place. Theres people in the beginning who were donald trump, rob rock and youve got the donald trump line and then that began to degrade. They began to give you the trumpline , but while they were giving to you they would go to. Kevin youngs boat and roxanne memoir hunger. Booktv is covered several of this years finalist. I think most of us, it means an end to come it means losing people we love. One of the things i learned from reading especially the dying writers like Christopher Hitchens who are writing about their own death, and even with my parents one of the things i realize that dying people want to tell us is to live. Like, live the best life you can. Live it so you dont have any regrets at the end. Do we, to the living find that message . I think the living [inaudible] we want to put that in the back of her mind. We dont concentrate on our mortality because its depressing but one of the things Christopher Hitchens writes in his book mortality is that he found at the end, can before, hes a living dying, the differences you are constantly where you have an expiration date.
