Nagiel Banacia, CDRRMO head, said in a statement that 3,987 individuals or about 1,102 families were transferred to public schools for safety as Typhoon Odette was approaching. CEBU CITY - Cebu province, which is along the path of Severe Tropical Storm Odette, began bracing for its onslaught as 30 localities were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 on Wednesday. Governor Gwendolyn Garcia on Tuesday night issued a memo addressed to 44 mayors in the province, enjoining them "to take all the necessary precautions and preparations for (the storm's) arrival)."
