The Local Initiative to Reduce the Impact of Climate Change (LIRIC) has shown how Nepal's development partners, local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), communities, and elected local governments can collaborate to build a climate-resilient community and reduce the effects of climate change. The Chure region had been bearing the brunt of relentless mining of sand, pebbles and boulders from its rivers and hills and their export to India which, according to experts, has caused natural disasters like floods and landslides.
Nepal’s trade deficit at the end of the first nine months of the fiscal year 2020/21 stood at Rs 1.01 trillion, rising by 12.49 per cent from the previous year. The deficit has been rising every year despite the government trying its best.
