NACHO launches phase-wise agitation - Eastern Mirror

Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): Nagaland Association of Community Health Officers (NACHO) has launched phase-wise agitation from October 11 to the 17 in protest against unresolved issues regarding unpaid salary and performance based incentive (PBI) to certain CHO since April 2022. The agitation has been necessitated following alleged failure of Health and Family Welfare department and National Health Mission (NHM) in particular to resolve the issue even after repeated notices and ultimatum. A NACHO press release jointly issued by its president, Semakchang, and the general secretary, Chumrenthung N Ezung, informed that the affected CHO would continue total cease work under the slogan ‘No Pay, No Work’  indefinitely until the issue is resolved, while the unaffected CHO would show solidarity by wearing black badge on all official duty and programmes. World Tourism Day observed in Noklak - Eastern Mirror

Dimapur, Oct. 3 (EMN): The state department of Tourism observed United Nations World Tourism Day at Noklak on September 27 with the theme ‘Rethinking tourism,’ alongwith the Noklak district administration, Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), Nagaland Association of Tour Operators (NATO) and Nagaland Adventure and Mountaineering Education (NAAME). An update informed that homestay training was also conducted on September 26 with food entrepreneur Alemjungla Jamir as resource person. The joint team also explored Pio-Ling-Kaa cave at Chipur (Thsoiphu) village. The NAAME team also undertook an expedition to Mount Khelia Kingniu, considered to be the second highest peak in Nagaland at an altitude of 3426 m above sea level, at Choklangan in Noklak district. Nagaland: SAYO youth training programme concludes

Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): A week-long youth training programme organised by the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO), in collaboration with various government departments and other civil society organizations, culminated at Thiazu in Mima village under Kohima district on August 19. Speaking at the valedictory function, Medo Yhokha, advisor of Technical Education and Election, stated that advancement in the society would start with the commitment of the youth. He expressed hope that the youth training would bear deep meaning and inspire the youth to explore their strength and resources to build a vibrant, dynamic society. Yhokha stated that the society would not progress if one confine oneself within the village with rigid mindsets. Tour operators form association - Eastern Mirror

Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): Tour operators of Nagaland, in a meeting held recently at Hotel Japfü in Kohima, decided to form an association with the nomenclature of Nagaland Association of Tour Operators (NATO). An update from the organisation stated that the members had deliberated on the tourism scenario in the state and Northeast India and the much needed association in the state. Besides the challenges faced by the travel and hospitality industry post Covid pandemic, members of the newly formed association pledged to work and promote Nagaland into a sustainable and eco-tourism destination. Meanwhile, the members elected its office bearers for a term of four years led by Kejaroko Pieru as president, Vimeto Vakha as vice president, Veluzo Tetseo as general secretary, Limasunep Alinger as assistant general secretary, Khriesinuo Ngacu as treasurer, and Veshehu Kezo as information and publicity secretary.
