I mean, we have a housing crisis in this city. And the parking lot itself, you know, in the long run, isnt what the community, i think, is going to want or need. The communitys becoming more tech focused. I think well see a decline in cars. Unless somethings done with the traffic situation there, i mean but tigers will be there forever. Tigers and glen park station, and la corneta, i think, will never go away. You know, this is a dilemma that im probably going to ask the department to explain, but you know, my auntie rosa owned the dry cleaner on the corner for years that had all the Police Uniforms on it. Yeah, thats my dry cleaner. Yeah. Yeah, i really think and to the degree that the five years im here, this is something i would push aggressively to see housing develop, because we do have a crisis, an
President buell commissioner harrison. Commissioner harrison ornamental beds, was it the absence or they were not kept well . A park is never punished for a feature that the park doesnt contain. Its only what is at the park that is not maintained. You talk about ornamental bed, what is that . Its a piece of landscape that has planting. Its not necessarily a box, but it could be. If you look in a different neighborhood playground, center beds might be considered around port smith for example, the beds that align sort of the kearney and stockton around the perimeter of that park. We have a mix of landscapes. We have lawn, we have so the ornamental bed. Lawn is different, but where were actually planting plants and arranging beds, we consider those ornamental beds. Using port smith as example, that is a problem. That area. Our objectives for water supply adopted in 2008 by the commission is to survive a specific eight and a half year plan scenario from 1987 to 1992 followed by 197677 backtoback with no more than 20 rationing. Theres a lot in that and that means at the end of the drought were down to zero water. Thats survival. Thats not being able to do anything else in the future. Thats a whole other question but thats the basic scenario. And its shown graphically here we start out with 1. 68 million acre feet and then you see along the bottom line theres a series of fiscal years with 86 to 76, 77 following that. The blue line shows the decreasing level of storage through the end of the year. Thank you very much for being here this morning. This is a really, really important time for me and for all of us. As a child growing up here in Hunters Point, i actually played on this very spot where were standing. Which is a surprise, that our Childcare Center is now here. We lived right there in the building right there in the place right here we were playing as children, my sister and i, who is the cofounder and there was a lot of housing in this area here. When we opened up the center and my Program Director tracy and i was walking through and i was telling the story, she said gladys its here, the Childcare Center. And i was very moved but it couldnt be done without all of you helping and supporting us. Im not going to be up here long but i really want to quote a saying by Myriam Wright elder man. Children must have at least one person who believes in them, it could be a counsellor, a teacher, a preacher, a friend, it could be you. You never know when a little love, a little supp
