NORFOLK, Va. A police lieutenant in Virginia who donated money to support Kyle Rittenhouse was fired, authorities said Tuesday.
Rittenhouse is charged with shooting two men during protests against the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He has become a
cause célèbre among conservative activists who believe the teen was within his rights to open fire in self-defense on Aug. 25, NBC News reported.
Lt. William Kelly, who worked in internal affairs for the Norfolk Police Department, was terminated after he expressed support for Rittenhouse and made an anonymous $25 donation to his defense fund. Kelly’s message at the time read, in part: “God bless. Thank you for your courage. Keep your head up. You’ve done nothing wrong.” ....

MyPillow s $1.6B Suit Calls Dominion s $1.3B Suit Lawfare
Law360 (April 19, 2021, 8:24 PM EDT) MyPillow Inc. hit Dominion Voting Systems with a $1.6 billion countersuit in Minnesota federal court Monday, alleging that Dominion s $1.3 billion D.C. federal court defamation suit against the pillow company and its CEO Mike Lindell is lawfare that violates its right to free speech.
In February, Dominion sued Lindell and MyPillow, accusing Lindell of knowingly perpetuating a big lie by falsely claiming that the voting-machine maker rigged the 2020 presidential election for Joe Biden. But MyPillow shot back with a suit of its own on Monday, arguing that the Dominion suit seeks to silence not just Lindell, but anyone who makes. ....

Trump buddy and MyPillow CEO ups election legal battle by $1.6bn

MyPillow Inc. Chief Executive Mike Lindell escalated a legal fight over his debunked claims of fraud in the 2020 election, with his company filing a lawsuit that seeks $1.6 billion from Dominion Voting Systems Inc., which is separately suing him and his company for defamation.
MyPillow sued Monday in federal court in Minnesota, where the company is based, doubling down on Lindell’s discredited claims of fraud against Dominion, saying “the adverse impact of electronic voting systems on the 2020 election was significant.”
“Dominion’s purpose is to silence debate; to eliminate any challenge to the 2020 presidential election; and to cancel and destroy anyone who speaks out against Dominion’s work on behalf of the government in administering the election,” MyPillow said in its complaint. ....
