the federal trio program upper bound for working class kids. in college, the way that i got recruited by my hbcu howard university was a through a program that the national mayor corporation historical the national achievement program that was designed specifically to identify high achieving black students, and on their website they say that they came to that program after 1965 and the programs in the london johnson administration. and then when i went to get my phd, i had a diversity graduate fellowship that was given to students who were high achieving, who made into the phd program who worked racially versatile in those programs. even with a federal programs and help me as a first generation college graduate, as a high achieving black student, still graduated from a ph.d. program with over $100,000 in student loans, because i didn t come from money and there was nobody to help supplement my education. so, we are not talking about
