SAN ANTONIO, Texas You probably got a letter from CPS Energy showing your credit from not having power during the winter blast. It shows most of us are getting an $8.75 credit. That is the Electric Service Availability Charge. It is what you pay each month to have service and many of us did not have power for some period of time. Yet, CPS Energy said if you were without power for 48 hours or more during the five-day winter storm period, you would get another credit of $50 to $100. CPS Energy to resume AutoPay feature Friday

CPS Energy first disabled their autopay feature earlier this week.William Luther /Staff
CPS Energy s AutoPay option will kick back on Friday after the utility service disabled the feature in the wake of last week s storm.
The move to pause the option, which automatically deducts payments from a card or bank account on file, came earlier this week as customers worried their February bills would be substantially higher than usual due to the energy crisis.
Customers can opt out of their AutoPay enrollment online or by calling (210) 353-6110, but they should not see charges stemming from the freeze reflected on their statement yet. ....
