"Considering the serious nature of offence to create communal disturbance the occasion of Sinhast at Ujjain, this Court does not find any case for grant of suspension of jail sentence," the Court said.
A Muslim man named Tanveer Ahmed collected holy water from the Sharda Peeth Kund in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He sent it to India via Britain through a chain of carriers. The water had to take this circuitous route due to the suspension of postal services between India and Pakistan. Maghribi, Ahmed s daughter, handed the holy water over to Sonal Sher, a Kashmiri Pandit activist. Sher then brought it to Ahmedabad in India. From there, it reached Ravinder Pandita in Delhi, who is a member of the Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (SSCK).
