Man Who Escaped Muskogee County Courthouse, Assaulted Deputy Back In Custody
The man who escaped from the Muskogee County Courthouse and assaulted a deputy on the way has turned himself in, the sheriff’s office said.
Officials said Cory Rone, with the help of his attorney, turned himself in to the Muskogee County Sheriff Wednesday afternoon.
Last week, the District Attorney said Rone ran from the courthouse after a judge ordered he be taken into custody.
Surveillance footage shows a deputy trying to stop Rone on his way out, but they ran into a metal detector, injuring the deputy.
He was appearing in court last week for cases involving gun charges.
