Two weeks ago, Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera revealed that it will be building a special car to celebrate its 95th anniversary. Although much is still unknown, the company has now revealed that its name will be the Arese RH95.
The moniker carries some meaning in the Italian automaking world. Arese is a commune in the North of the country near Milan. The area became the location of Alfa Romeo‘s biggest plant in 1965. Although the plant closed in 2005, it remains the home of the brand’s museum, the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo.
Since Touring is a coachbuilder, the question of what car its upcoming Arese RH95 will be based on is one of great interest. The name would seem to suggest that it will be based on an Alfa Romeo.
