Georgia Secretary of State: Ruling From Obama-Appointed Judge ‘Strikes Blow to Rule of Law’
The ruling blocking two counties from removing voters who appeared to have changed addresses from voter rolls struck a blow to the rule of law, according to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
“This ruling is a direct attack on rule of law in Georgia and the integrity of elections in this state, and I will not stand for it,” the Republican said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Without even hearing from Muscogee County, a President Obama-appointed judge has decided to overturn the express will of Georgia law and the county elections officers around the state who follow it,” he added. ....

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A legal battle is taking place in Muscogee County ahead of two key Senate races.
Attorneys for plaintiffs, Majority Forward and Gamaliel Turner, Sr. filed a lawsuit Wednesday on their behalf.
The suit calls for emergency action for injunctive and declaratory relief. They’re asking a judge to protect the rights of voters in the January 5 runoff. ....

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Republican Party is challenging the residency of over 4,000 voters.
Wednesday, the Muscogee County Board of Elections held an emergency meeting on the matter by phone.
The meeting came after a challenge was submitted by Alton Russell on behalf of the Muscogee County GOP, questioning the residency of voters registered in the county for the upcoming January 5 runoff election.
Russell says the voters in question don’t live in Georgia. ....

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Board of Elections is holding a called emergency meeting this afternoon on questions of residency for over 4,000 electors.
Officials say the meeting, which is being held by phone, will determine probable cause on a challenge of residency for 4,034 electors in Muscogee County.
There is no word at this time as to who these electors are or what parts of Columbus they reside in. ....
