Quezon LGU forges ties with DA to steer farmers for higher yield

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 12 (PIA)-Mayor Pablo M. Lorenzo III of Quezon municipality in Bukidnon province recently requested the Department of Agriculture in Northern Mindanao (DA-10) to support the town s overall goal of increasing farmers income and improving livelihoods.
The mayor sought DA s assistance particularly on animal dispersal program; abaca, vegetable and fruit production; and farm mechanization strategy, among other agri-interventions to help local farmers earn more amid the pandemic.
Guided by the Department s twin goals of Masaganang Ani, Mataas na Kita, Regional Executive Director Carlene Collado quickly convened DA-10 s technical team to discuss with Mayor Lorenzo on providing necessary technical and financial assistance to attain the government s common vision of food-secure communities and empowered farmers. ....
