This has already led to the deportation and arrest of Muneeb Ahmad Sofi, 21, a resident of Bijbehara who was working at a Qatar juice factory. Police have accused him of being an OGW of Jaish-e-Mohammed, a charge his family denies. Police, according to reports appearing in the media have already registered cases against three non-resident Kashmiris including Dr Mubeen Ahmad Shah, a businessman and scion of Alson Motors and a former President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce; video blogger of Kashmiri origin Riffat Wani, a German citizen, and a Kashmiri doctor Asif Maqbool Dar, serving Saudi Arabia since 2014. Deported from Qatar, he was identified as Muneeb Ahmad Sofi from Bijbehara area of Kashmir’s Anantnag district. A police press release described him as an overground worker of the banned militant organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed – a charge his family denies. Since 2017, many Kashmiris, believed to have been sympathisers of global terror group Islamic State or inclined towards joining it, have been deported to India. 1813 Srinagar, February 5 The most wanted overground worker of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist outfit was arrested on Friday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi after his deportation from Qatar, the police said here. Muneeb Ahmad Sofi, a resident of the Bijbehara area in Anantnag district, was arrested by a police team from Kulgam district, the police said on Twitter.
