Industries minister Uday Samant has given approval for the rehabilitation of slums in Navi Mumbai under the SRA scheme, benefiting over 38,000 hutments. The decision was made at a meeting attended by officials from MIDC, CIDCO, NMMC, and Shiv Sena leaders. The rehabilitation will be undertaken by MIDC, with a bio-metric survey to be initiated immediately.
